Practical Nursing Program

Why Become a Practical Nurse?

Practical nurses play a vital role in patient care in long-term care facilities and outpatient clinics. The aging baby-boomer generation is driving up the need for medical and rehabilitative nursing skills. Due to the national nursing shortage, practical nursing demands in acute care hospitals is also increasing. They are returning to play a larger role in bedside patient care.

Students in our program can expect to:

  • complete the program in 12 months with more than 1500 hours in the classroom, clinical setting, and simulation lab
  • participate in clinicals at various departments within MMC, local skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare agencies

This will not only be a school, but a truly immersive experience where graduates make an immediate impact upon entering the workforce.
